Founded in 1977, Burkim was established as a company focusing on textile and plastic industries by serving in the sales of related products and dyestuffs alongside conducting consulting services.

As of 1985 the company widened its range of activities towards the food industry. Making agency and distribution deals with world-renowned companies, it has grown to be the supplier of a wide range of food chemicals.
